For the Mac

Your notch can do more.

Islary uses the space around your camera. Move your pointer to the top and your music, events, focus timer and more appear. It works on Macs and displays without a notch as well.

What Islary can do

First the features you might not expect. Below them, everything else at a glance.

Volume and brightness

The overlay moves to the notch

When you press the volume or brightness keys, Islary shows the level up at the notch instead of in the middle of the screen. If music is playing, it's back right after. Islary needs Accessibility access for this.

Lock screen

Still usable when locked

Above your profile picture you get cards for music with controls, the focus timer and your next meetings.

Ask Claude

Ask, or have it done

Ask a question without switching windows, or attach a file. If you ask for an event, a note or a reminder, Islary only creates it after you confirm. It uses your own claude CLI.

Any display

Works on displays without a notch

On an external display or a Mac without a camera cutout, Islary shows a slim notch of its own at the top center. Everything else works the same there.

And also

Every module is a tile you can arrange freely on your pages.

  • Teleprompter

Your script scrolls in a strip right below the camera, so you're looking almost into the lens while you talk.

  • Focus timer

Start a focus session right in the tile. When it starts, the timer briefly shows below the notch.

  • Shelf

Drop files on the notch and take them along later. New screenshots and finished downloads show up there too.

  • Music

    Artwork, controls and progress

  • Calendar

Your next meetings at a glance

  • Reminders

    Tick off your to-dos

  • Notes

    Jot something down quickly

How Islary compares to other notch apps

Questions

My Mac has no notch. Does Islary still work?

Yes. On displays without a notch, such as an external monitor, Islary shows a slim notch of its own at the top center.

What data leaves my Mac?

Islary has no telemetry and no servers of its own. It only goes online when a feature needs it: for the weather and the place search, to check your license key, for the artwork of some music apps, and for “Ask Claude” through your own claude CLI. The privacy policy has the details.

What do I need for “Ask Claude”?

The claude CLI has to be installed and signed in on your Mac. Islary uses your own access. Without the CLI the tile shows a hint, and everything else works as usual.

What happens after the trial?

The notch stays visible and shows a card to buy or enter your key. Once activated, everything is back right away, no restart needed.

Can I move my license to a new Mac?

Yes. Sign out the old Mac in the settings and the slot is free again. One license covers up to 3 Macs at a time.

Does Islary run on Intel Macs?

No. Islary needs a Mac with an M-series chip and macOS 14 or later.

Which permissions does Islary need?

Only those for features you use, and only when you click: Calendar and Reminders for events and to-dos, Location Services for the weather where you are, Accessibility for the volume overlay and “Keep menu bar clear”. You can revoke any of them in System Settings.

What if I want a refund?

Purchase, invoice and refunds are handled by Polar, the merchant for Islary. Write to me via the contact form or the email address in the imprint and I'll take care of it.

Which languages are available?

English and German. Islary follows your Mac's language.
